Rules Governing Operation Of This Raffle
1. The seller will be advising adult purchasers not to request the name of a person under the age of 18 be printed on the ticket. However, if the purchaser insists on putting a youth's named on the ticket who is under 18 then the prize will need to be dealt with according to the Public Trustee Act. Must be 18 years or older to purchase tickets. Tickets may only be sold or purchased in Alberta.
2. All draws will be under the supervision of Stride Management Corp. and will take place at their offices at 3950 – 12 Street N.E., Calgary, Alberta, T2E 8H9. Any person wishing to view the draw may do so by attending at the above location on the draw date(s).
3. Alberta Cancer Board Directors, Alberta Cancer Foundation Trustees, Canadian Cancer Society – Alberta/NWT Directors, Joint Lottery Management Staff and family members of all of the above living in the same household and staff of Calder Bateman Communications Ltd. and Stride Management Corp. are prohibited from purchasing tickets.
4. The minimum number of tickets that must be sold before a cancellation is requested or an extension requested is under 96,601 ticket sales or $7,896,996 in revenue or 69% of gross revenue.
5. Draw dates:
• The Loyalty Draw will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at the offices of Stride Management Corp. Only ticket orders received by Midnight, Wednesday, August 12, 2009, will be eligible for this draw. The prizes will be drawn from the least expensive prize to the most expensive.
• The Early Bird Draw will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2009, at the offices of Stride Management Corp. Only ticket orders received by Midnight, Thursday, October 1, 2009 will be eligible for this draw.
• The Final Draw for the remaining prizes will be conducted from Monday, November 2, 2009 to Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at the offices of Stride Management. Only ticket orders received by Midnight, Thursday, October 22, 2009, will be eligible for this draw.
Should all ticket orders be sold out by Midnight, Thursday, October 1, 2009, then all draws will be made, with permission of Alberta Gaming & Liquor Commission beginning on Thursday, October 15, 2009 under the supervision of Calder Bateman Communications Ltd., Stewart & Assoc. and Stride Management Corp. in the offices of Stride Management Corp.
6. Retail value of all prizes is $4,330,000 including G.S.T. Only 136,500 tickets will be printed and sold (46,410 single $100 tickets, 13,651 at 3/$250, 3,549 at 5/$375 and 3,924 at 8/$525). 6,825 prizes in total to be awarded and this includes the three loyalty draw prizes.
7. Draw order: The Loyalty Draw Prizes, a Panasonic 50” HDTV ($2,099), $3,000 cash and a trip to Hawaii ($5,092) are the first draws followed by the Early Bird Prize, 50 hours on a Learjet 35 and $25,000 cash ($267,063). The remaining 6,821 prizes, with a retail value of $4,050,000 including G.S.T. will be drawn from least retail value up to the three grand prizes of a Scottsdale, Arizona condo with $15,000 cash ($435,453)), Lamborghini Gallardo and Bentley Continental GT package ($582,884) and $1,000,000 cash. After each winner is recorded, the stub will be returned to the drum. Ticket buyers are eligible for all draws providing their ticket order was received and entered prior to the cut-off date for each draw. Ticket buyers are eligible for all 6,825 prizes.
8. Restrictions may apply to the prizes. All prizes must be claimed at the supplier’s place of business. Any travel costs incurred by a winner, relative to picking up their prizes, is the sole responsibility of the winner. All vacations except where noted, are provided by Marlin Travel and include airfare and accommodation for two. Winners will have 1 year from the date of the draw to book their trip.
Early Bird – 50 hours of travel is based on typical all-inclusive flight aboard a Lear Jet 35. Hours may vary depending on the destination, number of travelers, and type of plane.
Private Yacht – Type of yacht will vary based on the time of year, destination, and number of travelers. It is the responsibility of the winner to pay for costs related to use of the yacht using the credit provided.
Arizona Condo – Possession of property to take place on or before November 18, 2009. Winner is responsible for any title transfer costs, which may arise.
9. Prizes must be accepted as awarded – no substitutes. There will be no cash “in lieu of” option. All winners have one year from the date of the draw to claim their prize. In the event of a discrepancy between any promoted prize and the prize list submitted to Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission, the list with the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission shall prevail.
10. All winners will be notified in writing, and in some cases by telephone, by Stride Management Corp. of what they have won and how to claim the prize. All winners’ names will be published on the Cash and Cars Lottery website: www.cashandcarslottery.ca.
11. If a winner cannot be located after a period of one year from the draw date, the prize or equivalent cash value will be reverted back to the property of the Alberta Cancer Foundation and Canadian Cancer Society upon Alberta Gaming & Liquor Commission approval).
12. In the event of a winning ticket stub having more than one name, the licensee will award the prize to any individual whose name is listed on the stub, neither the licensee nor the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission is responsible for resolving any disputes, which may arise from the different individuals.
13. Any refund requests will be individually investigated. After determining the validity of the request, the official ticket number will be cancelled and a refund cheque issued within 24 hours of the decision to refund.
