This year alone, 45,000 Albertans will undergo cancer treatment. You may know some of these brave individuals personally – they could be co-workers, friends, a parent or child. The good news is the survival rate is the highest it’s ever been at 62 percent. But when someone you love is diagnosed with cancer, a 62 percent chance of surviving is still far from comforting.
